This is my Grand-daughter Cierra's quilt. I made it for her graduation from high school for her Fast Pitch Softball passion. It is composed of her team T-shirts over all the years of grade school through to her Senior year. She was awarded a 2 year scholarship to continue her education which is the large center t-shirt (Proud Grandma!).
As you can see this photo is when I decided to experiment with printing some photographs on fabric to include her past years at bat; added some emblishments to the t-shirts, and then inserted her future self looking at her next field of play at the college level in the large t-shirt in the middle.
This quilt was all free motion using rulers and stencils. I also used a double batting of 100% cotton by Warm and Natural. This was the first quilt I worked on when I got my long arm equipment and most fun composing, creating, experimenting with photographs. The next part of this quilt's journey was to play with my new long arm with rulers, free motion stitching and some stencils. What fun!!! I couldn't wait to retire!
